As Swift performed The Star-Spangled Banner in front of Philadelphia 76ers fans at a football game when she was 11, she was already writing songs. The next year, she took up guitar. Drawing inspiration from country music artists such as Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original lyrics that expressed her feelings of the tween years and alienation. Swift moved from Pennsylvania with her parents and moved to Tennessee, Hendersonville. she turned 13 to devote greater time in wooing the label labels for country music in Nashville.
